The Grondin Funeral Home at 376 Cabot Street, Beverly was established in 1990 by Kevin J. Grondin, CFSP, CPC. Kevin started his career in funeral service in 1976. In 1992, he bought the Pike Funeral Home at 61 Middle Street, Gloucester and renamed it the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home. The Pike Funeral Home was established in 1900 by Willard Pike and was operated for many years by his grandson, the late Harold N. Pike. In February 2009 the Linnehan Funeral Homes in Haverhill and Bradford were acquired and renamed Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Homes. The Linnehan Funeral Homes were started in 1930 by the late Frank Linnehan and operated by his son, the late John J. Linnehan for many years until his untimely death in 2008.
Kevin is a lifelong resident of Beverly. He is a graduate of Beverly High School and the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston. He and his wife, Patricia, have two children Kevin and Kate Grondin. Professional memberships include the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association and in 1995 was proudly sponsored for membership in the Selected Independent Funeral Homes. Membership in Selected Independent Funeral Homes is by invitation only and consists of independent funeral service establishments which are privately owned and operated by persons of integrity, good moral character, good financial standing and dedicated to the principle that their calling involved special responsibilities to society. Members shall have an established reputation for honesty, fair dealing, history of superior service to the public and must adhere to a strict Code of Good Funeral Practice. Kevin is also a life member of the Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners, (CFSP – Certified Funeral Service Practitioner), where he continues his commitment to funeral service through community service and continuing education. He has also earned the designation of CPC (Certified Preplanning Consultant).
Kevin is assisted in the day to day operations by Julie A. Nicastro, Beth-Anne Grunzweig and Dennis J. Daulton, all licensed funeral directors. Julie joined the firm in 1993. She is a graduate of Gloucester High School, Burdett Business School and the Funeral Institute of the Northeast. She resides in Gloucester with her husband, John and two sons. Beth-Anne joined the firm in 2009. She is a graduate of Reading Memorial High School and Fine Mortuary College. Beth-Anne resides in Bradford with her daughter. Dennis is a graduate of Fitchburg High School, Northern Michigan University, Marquette and the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. He and his wife, Janis, have one son and 2 grandsons. Dennis has been associated with the Gloucester firm since 1976. They are all first generation funeral directors with over 100 years of experience in funeral service. Also assisting the funeral directors are valued staff members, James E. Vlack, Ron Gerring, Charlie Gilligan, Cyndy McPherson, Tom Grondin and Kevin P. Grondin.
